My Sophomore Year Journey

  The sophomore experience differs substantially from the freshman experience in multiple aspects. I feel more confident navigating school, managing my schedule, and getting involved in things that matter to me. The year brings a mix of increased seriousness with exciting new opportunities.


I have established specific goals for this year, which include better academic performance and club membership, and exploration of post-high school options. I continue to learn and grow while figuring everything out, but I have transformed significantly since last year. I want to document my personal development through this blog while sharing my experiences throughout my journey.

  The process of learning a new language proves difficult, but humor helps people view their difficulties in a different way. I watched the comedic sketch Do You Speak English? from the BBC's Big Train series which features Simon Pegg. A British tourist in France uses English to speak with locals but ends up creating a chain of funny miscommunications. The comedic portrayal of exaggerated accents and extreme reactions demonstrates the typical problems people experience when communicating across language boundaries.
